There was crowd surrounding them standing around coughing and sneezing waiting for one guy who is cooking individual pancakes on tiny grill. To their credit, I did notice they FINALLY figured out it's not a great idea to have utensils 6 ft in air out of reach and face up, ensuring that every hand before you has been on your fork or spoon Yum!!! The hot foods, while pretty good(if you get there VERY early), are hard to get to. Then another kid sneezed directly at coffee dispenser. One was picked up by mom so she could get her own silver. Lo and behold, in less than 5 minutes, I watched 2 kids sneeze on plates. Montgomery County Board of Health should close them down IMMEDIATELY "Clean" dishes are placed on low shelf about 2 feet off of ground and exposed and potentially visited by every set of hands, cough and sneeze in the area. They should be mopping floors Possibly the worst and scariest part is they are creating an EXTREMELY dangerous and unsanitary condition that has yet to be fixed. Again, this is Marriott management more concerned about margins than staff and safety. Much of the staff is required to fill many roles. Like many establishments, help may wear same gloves while handling dirty and clean things. ![]() In effort to be "sustainable" and not use disposables(Translated-cut costs) they use regular dishes and utensils These are stocked by same person who may be cooking food and collecting dirty dishes and garbage. Irony is the hotel bills itself as "health-inspired", but the breakfast/dining area is horribly laid out and an epidemic waiting to happen. They need to be fired immediately, as their sheer ignorance or lack of concern is placing guests at risk. While the seemingly highly dedicated staff strives to make your stay pleasant, the policies and design defeat their efforts. Just expect to have to make multiple trips to front desk. There is lack of consistency with what you may find as far as soap and towels etc. As a professional travel advisor, I'm always considering potential clients and where I would recommend they stay when visiting cities and without hesitation, I will definitely recommend Element Valley Forge. The professional courtesy of the staff was 5 star! As I setup my computer, in the reception area, the concierge offered use of the conference room, so that I could have privacy and quiet while I worked. We had no problem with parking and although we don't normally eat the breakfast offered at hotels, I appreciated the minimalist approach bread and bagels were available, as well as freshly made hotcakes with fruit and although there was only one person working the grill, there was not a long wait and guests were served, quickly. The lobby, elevators and bedroom were all clean and inviting out room had a "new" smell and was a relief from the stale cigarette smell of other establishments that claim to be smoke-free. The availability of hot coffee was another welcome touch. I found the front desk personnel to be friendly and professional the layout of the lobby/kitchen area was modern and nicely designed -the extension of the outdoor patio space - with NO ashtrays - allows for more elbow room, if needed. Upon arriving in the area, it was amazing to see how it had transformed in 16 short years! The hotel is very nice and what was most welcoming, was the sign at the front door, advising the Element Hotel is smoke free, which is a huge plus for me. I was totally surprised when this hotel was in my search results and decided to give it a try. I was born and raised in Philadelphia and when I moved, 16 years ago, this area of KoP was only known for the mall - everything else, within a 10 mile radius, was undeveloped. This is our 2nd visit to the Element Valley Forge and is now our hotel of choice, when visiting Philadelphia.
